Annuals

Spring

Spring

Spring

Early Spring annuals are great for those cool weather months. These flowers will bloom from March through May and will need to be replaced when it gets to be too hot. Some of our more popular Spring annuals include. Pansies, Violas, Primrose, Ranunculus, Snapdragons, and Dianthus. Some Spring annuals are more cold sensitive when first planted, so always keep in mind that you might have to cover them to avoid cold damage.

Summer

We offer a wide selection of bedding and potted annuals that will last through out the Summer months. A few of our best-selling Summer annuals include Petunias, Vinca Flower, Marigolds, Dahlias, Begonias, Impatiens, Portulaca, and Geraniums. Our Summer annuals are also available in hanging baskets and a variety of combination planters that are perfect for dropping into your containers at home.

Fall

Fall

During the Fall months, we have an abundance of Mums in all sizes. We also carry annual Rudbeckia, Ornamental Peppers, and Ornamental Grasses. Fall is also a great time to plant "Winter Hardy" Pansies and Ornamental Cabbage & Kale, as they will last through to a hard frost. "Winter Hardy" Pansies will also come back in the early Spring when fertilized and given the proper care.

Tropicals & Houseplants

Houseplants

Here at Shore River Gardens we offer both flowering and non-flowering Tropicals starting in May and through out the Summer months. Tropicals are not native to our climate, but with the right conditions, can be over wintered in your home. A few of our most popular and easy to care for tropicals include climbing Mandevilla, Dipladenia & Hibiscus bushes, Bird of Paradise, and a selection of Palm Trees. Large tropicals, such as Alocasia and Majesty Palms, make a statement when planted in large containers as "thrillers" and thrive in the warmer months, when other flowering annuals do not.

Houseplants

Looking to fill that empty corner of your room or bring some life into your bathroom? We carry houseplants all year round, but have a wider selection in the months of January and February. If you're not sure which houseplants are best for your space, one of our knowledgable team members would be more than happy to show you some options. There is a houseplant for any condition, even that space that doesn't get the best light. Some of our most reliable and easy to care for houseplants include Philodendron, Pothos, Sansevieria, Dracaena, and Zamioculcas Zamiifolia (ZZ Plant).

Succulents & Cacti

Succulents & Cacti

Succulents & Cacti have exploded in popularity. These little cuties make a great addition to your windowsill or anywhere that receives medium to bright indirect light. They come in an abundance of shapes and sizes and are relatively low-maintenance. Some of the most popular varieties of succulents include Echeveria, Haworthia, and Aloe. A staff favorite is the Kalanchoe Panda Plant, which boasts chocolate tipped and soft foliage. These plants are the perfect little addition to a children's bedroom and can easily be propagated so you can continue to enjoy them year after year.
